One advantage of the Acc+Ess Protocab system is that you are not restricted to locomotives having a fixed rated voltage (typically 12Volts).

Our system boosts up the voltage delivered by the battery up to the required voltage for your motor.

There are significant advantages to installing, say, a lower voltage motor in a smaller loco, because it means that we can produce a Locomotive Control Unit with a smaller footprint to handle the lower voltage.

Similarly, higher voltage motors draw less current to achieve the same power, so for larger locomotives where space is less of a premium, a higher voltage motor may have significant advantages.

We will continue to develop a wide range of LCUs for different voltages and power requirements.
