It is important to test the stall current of your locomotive to ensure that it is in the right range to be able to work with your Locomotive Control Unit.

The first release of the Protocab Locomotive Control Unit and Battery will only support a stall current of up to 500mA (forthcoming new models of the Locomotive Control Unit will be able to handle larger currents and this will in turn require a larger battery).
